ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad District Bar Monday announced a protest against the behaviour of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and to express solidarity with judge Zeba Chaudhry.
It said Imran Khan had reached the court and pretended to apologise, but apparently his action was an attempt to harass the honourable judge. The Islamabad District Bar presented a resolution against his behaviour.
It said Imran Khan had reached the female judge’s court on the day when she was on leave. “He told her stenographer to convey his message to her. He once again insulted the court,” it added.
The bar said Imran Khan had insulted and threatened the judge at a public meeting, but did not even submit an apology to the Islamabad High Court. “Imran Khan wants to run the judiciary according to his will. His sole purpose is to suppress the judiciary and seek relief in cases,” it said and added the bar condemned the ridicule and intimidation of constitutional, security and administrative bodies. It said the bar stands by the judiciary and all institutions for the rule of law. The resolution called for action against Imran Khan in order for the rule of law in the country.
